Now that the off-season and draft is complete its safe to say that Matt Cassel will be leading this team. The Pegulas, Whaley, and Ryan know this a playoff year and the fans expect nothing less.

The veteran, with experience leading a team to the playoffs and a pro bowl under his belt, is the only choice that makes sense.

You guys can pontificate all you want on EJ's potential but this staff is going to go with the guy that can get them to the promised land.

Sorry... Nah... It's a competition and EJ has just as good of an opportunity as Cassel. This offense will be built for options... And EJ offers more options than Cassel.

If Cassel wins the competition than he will be my QB. Until that happens, I'm for EJ for the sake of our future.

It's an uphill battle for EJ, that's for sure. He's going to have to blow some doors off or inherit the job due to injury to be the starter on opening day.

My head says Cassel, my heart hopes for EJ. EJ winning the job would be better than having a first round pick this year as it means we have a chance there and that the light came on for him.

Yes, I think he's a backup. Few backups have the kind of talent we now have at the skill positions.
Add in a top five defense and I would not be so certain 8 - 8 is the ceiling.
That said, I still think EJ has the best chance to emerge, though unlike the many who are sure he will not improve, I do not claim to know what will happen.

the only real questions at qb are what do you have in ej and tyrod. you already know that in cassel and there is probably not going to be an upside with him. the only way to find out about the other two is to play them in games that matter. ej started with more potential, and cost way more. thats why it will be ej. cassel is the insurance, and tyrod is the catastrophe rider

And he should be penciled in as the starter at the start of training camp. Unless Manuel Ejaculation comes out of his shell I don't see any chance of him starting again. Unless there is an injury. I haven't see any of TT's play to make an observation or a comment.
