BJ's Reilly decommits from NCAA, will test free-agent market

Defenseman Mike Reilly, who is representing the United States at the IIHF World Championship, informed the Blue Jackets he is leaving the University of Minnesota with plans to explore the free-agent market, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.
Reilly has insisted on multiple occasions he isn't ruling out CBJ but he does want to field offers/opportunities from rest of league.
Columbus selected Reilly in the fourth round of the 2011 draft. The two-time Big 10 Defensive Player of the Year led the Gophers with 42 points as a junior in 2014-15, and was one of two blue-liners named as a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.

now do the Sabres go after him Eichel just played with him in the IIHF World Championship so he knows him and it would make Eichel's decision to go pro a little bit more easier not to mention Sabres signed Eichel's line-mate Rodrigues just a few weeks ago

That said, the sabres should go after him, as the pipeline at defense runs pretty dry after McCabe and pysyk.

I don't think there's any chance Rodrigues will be on the Sabres next year, but I think Eichel will be right away, if he leaves school.
