Re: Eichel has good meeting with Sabres brass
Since this thread is Jack Eichel related Mike Morreale of NHL.com said yesterday on WGR he would rather have Jack Eichel than the 3rd and 4th best prospect in his draft.. Morreale also mentioned since it is a given McDavid will play in NHL next year Eichel is so competitive he cant see Eichel going back to college while McDavid plays in the NHL..Eichel will want to start his NHL career the same time as McDavid and get the rivalry started

Re: Eichel has good meeting with Sabres brass
Why in the hell would the sabres trade the current best prospect in the league wide pool?
No thanks.
Especially since bylsma has already talked to the media about how excited he is to coach 2 top flight young centers again. Reinhart isn't even being shopped.Last edited by JATMtheJATM; 06-03-2015, 10:38 PM.

Re: Eichel has good meeting with Sabres brass
Because Reinhart isn't strong enough on the puck to play the pivot in this league, and Marner has elite offensive creativity and puck handling skills... and would be a perfect match on the RW for Eichel and Kane.Last edited by coastal; 06-04-2015, 05:10 AM.

besides. marners stock has fallen due to his size. i dont even think youd need to get the third pick.Last edited by JATMtheJATM; 06-04-2015, 05:13 AM.

Re: Eichel has good meeting with Sabres brass
who are you going to get to play RW on line 1... Ennis? Ok... Then who are you going to get to play RW on line 2? Hosgson... lol.
this team needs a top level RW like a Patty Kane to pair with Eichel more than it does a three year project like Samson on the pivot.
Marner is our Kane and Eichel is our Toews.

Who says all the holes have to be plugged right away? Rebuilds generally take a few seasons.
I'd much rather have a 1-2-3 of eichel, reinhart, and girgensons down the middle. That's going to be tough to match against.
As to who do I put on the second line right wing? Depends of free agency, if they can get someone. If not, my pick is grigorenko.

Re: Eichel has good meeting with Sabres brass
I'd rather have my pivots being Eichel, ROR, Girgensons and Larson. As far as Marner is concerned... he fills a void on this roster more than Reinhart does and compliments our new franchise player the way Kane does with Toews. Really having trouble understanding how everyone wouldn't want this.
Heres some info on Marner...
With the New Jersey Devils selecting sixth overall, they have an opportunity to select an excellent forward prospect. In this prospect profile, Mitch Marner of the London Knights would be a near-perfect fit - if he's even available.
Going from 13 goals and 59 points as a 16-year old to 44 goals and 126 points as a 17-year old is evidence of a massive improvement. Those 126 points were second only to Dylan Strome for the OHL scoring lead. That's impressive on it's own. Thanks to CHL Stats, I can impress you further with his production. Marner was one of three players in the entire OHL to average at least two points per game; the other two were Connor McDavid (projected #1 overall pick) and Sam Bennett (only 11 OHL games, #4 overall in 2014). Marner finished tied for second with Strome with 44 goals, led the OHL in primary assists with 53, and his age-adjusted points per game rate was second only to McDavid at 1.88. Marner was a monster for London with 126 points in the regular season and 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in seven playoff games
Mitch Marner is able to use his tenaciousness, his hockey sense, and his quick feet to be effective in his own end as well. His quickness, and his anticipation help him to shut down plays and create turnovers which are quickly transitioned into offensive chances. He is willing to block shots, and get in the way of passing lanes as well. Marner’s tenaciousness is a trait that extends to his own zone as he works to win battles along the boards and support his defence down low. Even as a 17-year old he is an important penalty killer for London.

Re: Eichel has good meeting with Sabres brass
Kane and Toews play on the same line from time to time but not all the time..Eichel doesn't need a Patty Kane type RW to get points
Matthew Kollar (WGR) watched every minute of Reinhart in Rochester and claimed Reinhart didnt win every puck battle but he was fine his smarts made up for any lack of strength... Bottom line Kollar was raving about Reinharts play
