One thing is for certain. The Bills are going to keep teams guessing as long as they can about who will start at quarterback Week 1.

A week prior to the season opener, we still might not know who's starting.

Given the situation at quarterback, why announce who's going to start if you don't have to?

Does it make any sense to announce who the starting quarterback is going to be in preseason? If so, for what reason?

Does saying who the starting quarterback is going to be before the season starts an advantage, or disadvantage?

Keep the Colts coaching staff, and Bills fans guessing all the way up until kickoff.

3 weeks is up. Roman knows who will be starting, but he sure as hell isn't going to let anyone know about it for as long as possible.

Depends on how things go through training camp, but if somebody doesn't clearly distance themselves from the rest of the group before, I would expect the starter to be named the week prior to the third preseason game.

1 hour before the Indy kickoff. Percy Harvin taking direct snaps and running the triple option.

Let the summer play out.

He may do it earlier than that, but shouldn't. You see all the hubbub that the Jets are going through with Gailey alluding to Geno Smith being his guy so early.

4th regular season game. After one of them gets hurt, the next one up will be "the guy we felt was the best fit for this offense all along".

It doesn't work that way.

If the starter is clear, then he will get the majority of reps, so there won't be any fooling anybody.

The longer this goes the worse for us. The sooner we have a starter the faster this team can prep and hopefully get a winning gameplan.

Well, I think the game plan is rather similar for EJ and Tyrod. Cassel would probably look a bit different. Only if the game plan does involve passing, then it could be a problem to start EJ...

There will be no decision made on the starter until the Coaches see the QB's against another teams defense in preseason.

it's possible they could decide to hold off until the guys are playing actual football

After the third preseason game.

I like this idea the most but at the same time if the Bills could hold off that long, why not just wait another 2 weeks?

Feldspar made a great point by saying the guy that gets the most reps is going to be the guy who starts.

Once we see some kind of separation between the QBs in training camp, the reps should make it obvious.

I don't think the Bills will be able to hide who their starting quarterback will be past the first preseason game.

Can't wait to see who it's going to be, obviously.

When Whaley signs the guy, sort of like last year.

After the third preseason game.

Hopefully someone emerges so the starter is evident going into the third pre-season game so the starters can get a few quarters of work together.

Watkins said the Bills are just learning the offense at this point so it is fine to get reps with all the QB's.

But the starting QB & receivers will have to play more together as time goes on to get their timing down.
