Well, I doubt the Jags would trade Bortles for Henderson.

OK, I will settle for a 2nd rnd pick next year.

Probably more how they feel about the undrafted kid more than Henderson.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/19882816/rex-ryan-benches-right-tackle-wayne-hunter-for-austin-howard
Poor Wayne Hunter's been beat down by just about everyone over the past few weeks for his turnstile-like play at right tackle recently and finally enough was enough, as Rex Ryan announced he was benching Hunter for Austin Howard.

Hunter, per Ryan, will move into a "sixth man" role for the Jets with Howard taking the starting right-tackle snaps against the Panthers when the two teams square off on Sunday night.

"You always try and do what's in the best interest of your football team," Ryan said. "And right now I believe this is in the best interest of our team."

Earlier this week, Ryan didn't even bother giving Hunter a vote of confidence, so it shouldn't be that stunning that he decided to finally yank the tackle out of the starting lineup.

Still, getting Hunter off the field is pretty critical, because he -- and the offensive line in general -- was a complete sieve in the Jets last game against the Giants, allowing Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow to get sacked a combined seven times.

But if Howard's such a better player, why did it take Ryan so long to figure out that Hunter shouldn't be in the game? He was terrible in 2011 and he's been terrible thus far in 2012, without the season even starting.

Jets fans should be excited that Ryan admitted there's a significant problem on the line and is finally taking steps to address it. But there are plenty of other people that should be more thrilled with the news that the Jets offense line is in upheaval just weeks before the season kicks off ...

Bills coach Rex Ryan told reporters that he expects to sign veteran offensive lineman Wayne Hunter, according to Mike Rodak of ESPN.com (on Twitter). Hunter has been trying out for Buffalo over the past couple of days.

It has been a couple years since we’ve heard from Hunter, who started all 16 games at right tackle for the Jets in 2011, and last appeared in the NFL in 2012. The tackle was widely criticized by Jets fans during his time in New York. In his final year in green, Hunter graded out as one of the very worst tackles in the NFL, according to the advanced metrics at Pro Football Focus (subscription required). Hunter finished with an overall grade of -24.6, ranking him 71st out of 76 qualified tackles.

In August of 2012, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer convinced the Rams to send Jason Smith east in order to bring Hunter to St. Louis. Hunter fared slightly better in his 14 games (4 starts) with the Rams, but still graded out with a below average mark according to PFF.

Sounds like a dirt cheap back up.

Just a sign of how desperate the Bills are on the OL.

Please sign Mathis.

Would you want the Bills to sign Mathis at the expense of a GOOD player already on the team?

Because that is most likely what would happen, the Bills would lose a player like Cordy Glenn because of the cap.

He is 34 years old & is a finesse player not a mauler that the Bills want their OL to be.

He's going to sit in meetings and teach the young players how to be professional offensive linemen off the field and how to put work in.

Then at the end of camp he will get cut, cash his final check and wait until next summer to repeat the process

More than it would have sucked with Marrone and Hackett at the helm? Doubtful

If anyone had bothered to read the reports this is exactly why he was signed. Just to help teach the young kids. People need to chill out here.

Excellent post!!

The Bills are extremely short in depth at the Tackle position.

Nobody is going anywhere.

We need at least another Tackle or two on top of the players we already have.

LOL...in just the short span of OTA's, we've gone from Seantrel being so good he might replace Glenn at LT to being so bad KuJo has passed him on the depth chart.

I love the off season.

Who said he'd make it out of camp ?

How this place can take the smallest move and turn it into something else to push an agenda. LOL

How many tackles do the Bills have on their roster as of today?

Count them.

http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster.html

Tyson Chandler (rookie free agent)
Cordy Glenn
Seantrel Henderson
Cyrus Kouandjio

That's it. You don't think the Bills need more depth at tackle?

Bringing Wayne Hunter in shows me he has no clue.

Rex likes Hunter because he can play T and G in reviewing his comments from: http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2015/06/18/rex-i-think-hunter-will-be-signed/ Personally I don't mind bringing him to see if he has anything left in the tank, granted I think there are better options out there like Blalock, Anthony Collins or Brian De La Puente. Yet they might be looking to come in on the cheap toss in Blalock only be a G, Collins only a T La Puente might be a C/G.

I love the off season.

I don't think anyone said Seantrel was bad. He missed a day of camp which looks like it pissed off the coaches combined with Cyrus' offseason work it led to him being demoted.

Personally I never thought Sesntrel was all that good last year. He struggled a lot at times and needed help too often.
