If I'm not mistaken, this will be the 100th meeting of the two teams.

By November 1978, the Dolphins' winning streak in the series had reached 17 games, a mark tied for the longest streak in NFL history for one team against another. The press in the Buffalo area frequently noted this fact.[7] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bills%E2%80%93Dolphins_rivalry#cite_note-7) The Dolphins broke the record with a 25–24 result in Buffalo's Rich Stadium (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_Wilson_Stadium) on November 12 of that year.[8] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bills%E2%80%93Dolphins_rivalry#cite_note-8) With 9–7 and 17–7 victories in 1979, Miami's streak reached 20 by the end of the decade.[4] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bills%E2%80%93Dolphins_rivalry#cite_note-finder-4)1980–89[edit (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bills%E2%80%93Dolphins_rivalry&action=edit&section=4)]

On September 7, 1980, the Bills recorded their first victory versus the Dolphins in 21 games.

Will always despise the Dolphins over any other AFC East rival because I had to grow up with the Bills during this dubious time in their history.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bills%E2%80%93Dolphins_rivalry

Have fun at the game. I hope the Bills pummel those teal pretenders.

I despised the Dolphins at that time.

But I have come to respect Coach Don Shula and that GREAT Dolphins team.

Everything they accomplished, they did with class & without cheating.

The Patriots* on the other hand, have ZERO class & everything that they have won has been won because of CHEATING.

I rooted & cheered for the Patriots when they won the Super Bowl against the Rams.

It is sickening to know the Patriots won that game like every other game they won because they CHEATED.

They are the one team I will always despise.

I had season tickets & was at the game September 7 1980 when the Bills won over the Dolphins & the fans tore down the goal posts.

That was a great time in Bills History as was winning against the Fins in Buffalo 24-14 to win the AFC East in the Super Bowl years.

But I will enjoy when the Bills finally knock off the Patriots* to win the AFC East more than I did when we won those games against the Fins

Work at Shulas' steakhouse for years. Classiest guy I ever met. He didn't care if you were a janitor or manager /waiter /bar tender he treated you equally and always made sure to say hi.

We were asked to wear our team jerseys on Monday night football Bills vs. Dolfins. Flutie vs. Marino. I was wearing my bills jersey and SHula laughed it off. We squished the fish that night and Shula wasn't so upset because he did not like Jimmy Johnson who was the fins coach at that time. I kept my job.

Miami would of been crushed even worse by the NFC, who had a ~16 year run of championships give or take a few years.

I've never been to Miami but I always imagined that it's exactly how it's pictured in GTA: Vice City. The only reason I would ever go there is for Cuban food.

I've been to Miami a number of times.

I've been to one Dolphins/Bills games down there too. It was the year the Dolphins picked up Culpepper instead of Drew Brees. Oops. I don't remember what year it was, but it was the second game of the season. They tell me the game was sold out, but there were TONS of empty seats. There were also TONS of Bills fans there...to the point where I almost felt that we weren't in the minority.

We beat them too.

They usually sell out but don't show up. Tons of finfans nationwide who don't fly out. They are the MOST fairweathered fans IMO. I'm not saying that because I'm a bills fan. I'm saying that because I lived in So. Fla and my friends were mostly finfans. It was easy to just ask tickets from them.

The fact that Shula (and his players) was who he was was made it so infuriating that Wilson couldn't field a team that could beat them once over ten years.

And it goes to show as Shula's recent comments about the Patriots show. The league has changed. And not for the better.

In the Miami area, South Beach.

But if you come to the West Coast of Fla, Clearwater Beach is the place to see them.

I've been to the Miami game in Florida 4 times and have been fortunate enough to see them win all 4. It's funny, since the Miami fans drift out in the 2nd half, leaving only Bills fans who basically take over the stadium.

My wife was actually a Dolphins fan when we were dating (starting in '85)...we were together and eventually married when the Glory Years team was being put together ('88). My rabid support of the Bills, combined with the subsequent years of consistently *****-slapping Marino cured her of that in somewhat short order. I expect history to repeat itself.

The stars have once again aligned. The similarities are too consistent to be written off as mere coincidence. We will go to the Super Bowl.

hahaha, sounds good. And promising. But your son needs to do something different than you, because I want to win the darn thing.
And kudos for marrying after only 3 years of dating. Today it seems like everybody only marries after 15 years of dating and only if accidentally there is offspring on the horizon. Well, maybe this is only in Germany...

Same thing happens to the Redskins. They have so many season ticket holders that they sell out every game every year before the season even starts. But if they snuggle, people stop showing up and the stadium is only half full for the final few games.

I remember a few years back when they played Pittsburgh. None of the Skins fans wanted to go so they sold the tix, and the only people buying were Pittsburgh fans. So, the crowd was very pro-Steelers, then the same Skins fans who didn't go to the game were lizard about it the next day.

Not really. At least year round in the USA.

And while all of Florida does have that, nothing like South Beach for quality & quantity.

The game is at 4:30, but it will still be pretty hot in the stands. If it was a 1pm game, it would be brutal for people not used to the heat and humidity. :peace:

There are always plenty of Bills fans at the Miami game because so many Bills fans live down here.
