yes, I know they are meaningless so save the condescending BS.

But to place any team in the East above Buffalo right now - other than New England - is just naive.

They got the Pats on top of the AFCE. Fine.

But the Fins AND the Jets ahead of us?

Yeah, I don't ****ing think so.

We're not dead last material in the AFCE.

He's obviously a delusional Jets fan. Calling the Jets comparable to the '85 Bears is freaking hilarious.

Jets D gave up 25 points a game last year - he compares them to the '01 Ravens D even though it was the 2000 Ravens D that was all-time great - that '00 Ravens D gave up something like 10 points per game. Is their ravamped secondary going to change their D by 15 points per game? No.

This guy is wrong.

If it did happen, I wonder how quickly we would all want Rex to just shut up.

To his credit he did say that the differences are so minute that if you were to change the order from 2nd to 4th in the division he would not have a problem. That's how I see it to.

The Jets won 4 games last year and got blown out by Buffalo, twice. The only place significantly upgraded was at CB and WR even though they got gashed on the ground and gave up 47 sacks, 8th worst in the league. It might be worth noting that Cromartie had zero passes defensed in the second half of last season playing next to Patrick Peterson. Lots of full seasons and passing the age of 30 might have something to do with that.

They also had an elite DT fall in their laps at the draft.

Also, Chan Gailey's offense has a terrible record against Rex Ryan's defenses. Fred Jackson(in his prime) > Chris Ivory and CJ Spiller >>> Bilal Powell
and Ryan Fitzpatrick > Geno Smith.

At any rate, I'd say that the Bills, Dolphins, and Jets all significantly got better this offseason, while the Patriots got worse. And Brady will be suspended at the beginning of the year.

The thing about the Jets is that, while their defense should be good after shoring up their secondary, they seem to be built around a ground-and-pound type of offense because they don't really have a QB either. But their stable of running backs aren't nearly as good as the Bills'.

I also feel that Tannehill is overrated in his potential at this point.

I still think that the order in the division is the same as last year: Patriots, Bills, Dolphins, Jets.

They don't play the game on paper, though.

Did not consider that but you might be right. I question where he lines up with Harrison, Richardson and Wilkerson. Is he a DE?

On a 3-4, you line those 3 up in the front and any LB will look good.

Ok, but I was asking about Leonard Williams. Where does he go? The bench? Surely you're not suggesting he lines up at OLB.

He may become elite, but this year he is a ROOKIE.

i actually started laughing when he placed all 4 teams in the AFCE above the Cardinals; i'm not even sure there are 4 teams better then them in the whole of the nfc, let alone all 4 afc east teams.

that right there is all you need to know about his power rankings.

well, you are absolutely wrong Zoneblitser... the Bills are the better team between the bills, jets and fish... there is no way to spin that any other way. if they give Buffalo a road game in Miami on a sunday instead of a thursday night, we go 10-6. if we start Orton sooner - like after week 2, we are at least 11-5 and in the playoffs to do god knows what with the way our defense was playing late in the year (they were good all year long, but to shut down both Rodgers and manning in back to back weeks, that's the $#!t that gets you championships. Oakland was a fluke loss, or Nathaniel Hackett's baby... either way, that pos is gone and good riddance.

I thought the pro game was based on wins and losses and now idiotic power rankings. Who da *** cares. On paper right now, I was bored at work today so I looked at the schedule and have us going 12-4 to the Pats 11-5 and winning homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. See how easy that was. Will that happen? Who the hell knows? Keep in mind that for most of the past 15 years [2001, 2005, 20010, and 2013 being the exceptions] I have always believed that next year is the year we might not be superbowl calibre but damn we will make the playoffs.

2001 I knew would be a stinker as we axed the majority of the Philips era team
2005 I knew we'd stink because we decided Fat Pat was too old
2010 I knew would be be bad
2013 because our QB situation was so wanting.

Point is that its football, and well the talent level is so close that it truly is any given sunday and if you stay healthy and play smart you always have a chance.

Who are the 4 loses in your opinion ? Perhaps I should ask who are the two loses after the Pats sweep the Bills as is the case most of the time ?

The Jets are as high on their defense and team as are the Bills fans on theirs. Some of you folks live in a rose-colored bubble. The Bills have no QB. You can't win NFL games without one. Doesn't matter how good the other 21 starters are on offense and defense. It just doesn't. If you don't think the Dolphins and Jets are, at least, on equal footing with the Bills then you have no clue.

The Bills had a coach who took this QB-less squad to 9-4 and they pissed him off and let him walk. Was he great? Maybe not. But he was, by far, the best since Marv Levy left. To think that Rex Loudmouth Ryan is better is not a reasonable assumption.

IMO the entire division is up for grabs this season...including New England...no order of finish of the teams would surprise me, except for maybe the Cheatriots completely imploding and not being competitive.

Oh, I have no doubt that the fight for 2nd place in the division is going to be highly competitive. But its ludicrous to compare the Jets to one of the greatest defenses of all time. The Jets were 6th in yards and 24th in points last year.

Yes, it is a reasonable assumption to think that Rex Ryan who Coached the Jets with Sanchez at QB to two AFC Championship games is a MUCH BETTER HC than the Maroon he replaced.

And Marrone was NOT the best HC since Levy, Wade Phillips was BY FAR the best HC since Levy.....until Rex.

FWIW, Prisco's rankings has MIA at #16, BUF at #20, and NYJ at #30...
