Figured that with summer camps getting ready to start up and all the preseason magazines coming out that it was a good idea to at least start the QB discussion for next years draft.

Ideally I'd like to keep this discussion to just Seniors until we have an idea of what Juniors will be declaring.

Next post will have a list of the top Senior QB's from all divisions just to get the discussion started.

You'll want to make note that not every QB on the list is the starter for their team, these names are simply pulled from a number of different sources (CBS Sports, Phil Steele, All-American Lists, etc.) so some schools have two guys listed (Arkansas State) and some schools have backups listed (Cincinnati).

To the best of my ability here are the QB's listed that aren't projected to be starters next year:
Stephen Hogan - Arkansas State
Chandler Rogers - Arkansas State
Cody Schroeder - California (PA)
Ronnie Bell - Georgia State
Ben McLane - Georgia State
Tyler Ferguson - Louisville
Quinton McCown - New Mexico
Bram Kohlhausen - TCU
Trey Fetner - South Alabama
Travis Wilson - Utah
Nelson Fishback - Western Kentucky

The reason I left them on the list is because transfers aren't final yet, you never know what could happen in camp or with injuries. Keep in mind this is just a list, these are not rankings. This list is also fluid, I'll be adding to it and removing from it as the summer and season progress and names either fall off or emerge.

Add - Max Wittek - Hawaii - 6'4, 240
Remove - Cole Gautcshe - New Mexico - 6'4, 234 - Moved to TE

I can't edit my own posts, so I'll need Mods help here.

I don't have the keys to this forum.

All good, I just put a post in the Q&A about this issue. Once I expand it past QB's there could be a number of edits needed and that's a lot to ask a Mod who may or may not have interest.

Does X-Era still have mod rights in here?

Kessler is my favorite.

I'd like to see Brissett show he's not just a flash in the pan.

Travis Wilson has got some cojones.

Glad Adams is getting a shot in the bigs... he deserves it, but I think he'll probably fall flat on his face.

Goff is a junior so he's not on the list.

Oh ok sorry missed that part.

So looking at some film I do not believe Kevin Hogan and Trevon Boykin to be first round guys. What is everyone else's take on this?

Jake Coker - Alabama - 6'5, 232
Joel Stave - Wisconsin - 6'5, 220

Both of these guys are playing well enough against tough defenses to keep a closer eye on this season. Neither are runners, but Coker has nice vision, and they both have decent arms. Coker has a little bit of quirk in his throwing motion.

I know Chad Kelly is only a junior, but he's looking pretty good to start this season.

Goff of Cal looks like the only guy who could step in and play early.

I'd put a few guys in these tiers:

Tier 1:
Paxon Lynch

Tier 2:
Connor Cook
Carson Wentz
Jared Goff
Chad Kelly

Tier 3:
Dak Prescott
Kevin Hogan
Cardale Jones
Christian Hackenberg
Brandon Doughty
Cody Kessler
Trevone Boykin

Personally, I'd wait until round 2 or 3 to draft a QB this year.

I think I'd really like Cardale Jones in a pocket passer offense with a solid QB coach, like Arizona. I think it's going to be another middlin' overreach class though.
