View Full Version : Will The Brady Suspension Be The Beginning of The End For The Patriots?

I think Roger Goodell has already made up his mind.

The big decision won't come until late July, but it's a done deal. Goodell has too much ammunition.

The Commish is going to stick to his guns, and let the Patriots stew in it for the next 3 weeks.

Tom Brady and the Patriots have gotten off to a slow start in recent years.

In the 2014 season opener against the Dolphins in Miami, Brady laid an egg completing only 52% of his passes for 249 yards and 1 TD in a loss against the fish. Home field advantage was not a factor.

In the 2013 season opener against the Bills in Buffalo, Brady almost lost to a rookie QB, completing only 56% of his passes for 288 yards, 2 TD's and 1 Int. His next game against the Jets in Week 2 of 2013 was horrible. The Pats won 13-10, despite Brady's bad performance against Rex Ryan's defense.

Brady threw for 185 yards, 1 TD and had a completion percentage of 49%. His QB rating was 24.2.

If the 4 game suspension stands and Brady gets off to a slow start once again, I don't think the Patriots make the playoffs this season.

They will finish 5-11 at best and end up with a high enough draft pick to replace Brady in the 1st round.

That would be terrifying for Bills fans. Such an outcome would be a blessing in disguise for the Hoody. I wouldn't doubt if Belichick is thinking that it might be in his own best interest to tank the upcoming season given the situation.

He has a built in, guaranteed excuse to suck in 2015, and will use it to draft the one of the best quarterbacks in the 2016 draft.

The last thing Bills fans should want in 2015 is for the Patriots to totally suck balls. I hope the Pats finish 10-6 and fail to make the playoffs.

That would be perfect.

The Patriots first 7 games of 2015:

Steelers
at Buffalo
Jacksonville
bye
at Dallas
at Indianapolis
Jets
Miami

1-6 or 2-5?

3-4, please God!

I don't want the Patriots to be good. I don't want them to be bad. I want them to be like the Bills have been for the past decade plus.

****. I've been 'seeing' the beginning of the end for the Patriots for almost 15 years now. As long as Kraft, Belichick and Brady are around and can continue to find new ways to cheat there will be no 'beginning of the end'.

We get these funny threads every single year...I'll answer when Marsha retires.

marsha IS the cheaters

belicheat is a good dc and a painfully mediocre hc who gets viewed as a genius just bc the best qb to ever play falls into his lap - despite a less than .500 wp when shes not in the game

i pray with all my heart he keeps coaching after shes gone so yall can remember how painfully sub-average he really is

I don't get how such a great quarterback was so insignificant in college as to fall to the 6th round.

Goodell is waiting for camp to start so Brady can decide to sue during camp or just take it on the chin.

Most Pats fans believe he's getting one game or none.

I'm starting to believe them.

Frankly those slow starts are probably more to the way the patriots cheat. Eithe belichick is trying to go clean and gives up and goes back to cheating by week 5 or their system requires a certain amount of data that the first couple games don't take advantage of.

So if brady misses 4 games, I suspect he'll be spectacular per usual.

I also am beginning to believe Brady suspension will go away because protecting the patriots is the only thing that matters to the nfl. Have to protect that new fan base.

I actually think he's getting off though I hope that isn't the case. The Patriots won't finally die until Adams and Belichick are out the door. Hopefully they don't teach their system to the next coach.

my gut feeling is that its not a pure system. i think adams is like a sevant. and if he's given some time to evaluate the film and the signals, he can break it down very quickly and put people in the right positions.

i hope that's how it is.

Jim Kelly was pretty bad his last couple years in the league because his body couldn't get it done but his ego wouldn't let him admit it.

Obviously, I don't know Brady personally, but from his public persona, it seems like his ego works the opposite way. He's too vain to let the entire country watch him slow down, so at the first sign of physical deterioration, he will retire and Belicheck will go with him.

Time catches up with everybody so it is the inevitable outcome, but when it happens, it will be based on Brady's physical ability and not Deflategate.

HGH was not available when Kelly played.

I have no doubt that because of his ego, Brady is on HGH, which up to now is impossible to detect.

But a new test has been developed that can test for HGH, now it needs approval to be implemented.

I dont think Bellicheat will retire when Brady retires. He will try to prove that he is the reason for the success. And he will fail. Although I expect them to be a regular playoff contender, but no Super Bowl anymore.

i don't doubt belichick will stick around after brady and win with another no name qb.

he could have gotten away with it if he wasn't so greedy.

eventually people will look at 20 year run with such little support for what it is. it isn't a genius. it's someone operating on a different set of rules. eventually, the journalists will run with the obvious storyline instead of the lazy one.

They'll probably go 4-0 without him.

This and your starting QB prediction are two very meaty failures.

Every year I read one of this threads about how The Pats reign is finally coming to an end. I'll believe it when I see it. Yes, even if the suspension remains at 4 games. Brady as much as I hate his lying, smug, POS ass is a very good QB. Also as long as Belichik is out there cheating with the league turning its head the other way they'll continue to be around. What really needs to happen is for Kraft to die/sell/retire for things to change. That culture of cheating starts at the very top with him.
