Re: TE clay virtually invisible
He's not happy with their blocking. As for Clay, they spent a lot of money and like his versatility, and I doubt they're going to show what their true intentions for him are going to be in training camp for all to see.

Clay is saving his "A" game for when he has to play delicately with all that guaranteed money he doesn't have to earn. I'm pretty sure he'll mince his way along being versatile at not doing anything.
I don't really have a clue but I'm buying in to complaining about them in camp.

Rex did say that they were keeping it very vanilla in terms of the offense because they knew other teams were watching. Its possible that they don't want to show their hand in terms of how they're using the TE's. Also its early in camp so they might not have installed the plays where the TE's are very involved yet

And the OG spots will be vastly improved this year.

Re: TE clay virtually invisible
Blocking is blocking, it doesn't matter how vanilla the offense being run is. If that last two sentences are true, then there would be no reason for Ryan to feel compelled to comment, because he would already know better.
Sounds to me like the TE's in general are half-assing their blocking assignments and Rex wants to see a little more concentration and effort.YardRat Wall of Fame

Rex wants to light a fire in these guys & blocking is blocking.
On the bright side, that is a pretty good group on defense that the offense is trying to block.
