    TE clay virtually invisible

Given that he plans to run the ball a ton in 2015, Rex Ryan wants his tight ends to block well. In order to get more blocking the Buffalo Bills toyed with defensive tackle Kyle Williams at tight end.

Not a blocker in the group, except for Mulligan.

He's not happy with their blocking. As for Clay, they spent a lot of money and like his versatility, and I doubt they're going to show what their true intentions for him are going to be in training camp for all to see.

Clay is saving his "A" game for when he has to play delicately with all that guaranteed money he doesn't have to earn. I'm pretty sure he'll mince his way along being versatile at not doing anything.

I don't really have a clue but I'm buying in to complaining about them in camp.

I questioned spending all that money on a TE when investing it in our OL made more sense.

Technically that is part of the OL.

So signing and drafting two new starting guards isn't investing in the oline?

A mid-3rd round pick and an old out of the league FA signing don't impress me in the context of how bad this OL was last year.

Camp reviews have been positive so far, especially for that mid 3rd rounder that you seem to be casting off. Is it not ok to see how it works out before dubbing it a failed approach?

Rex did say that they were keeping it very vanilla in terms of the offense because they knew other teams were watching. Its possible that they don't want to show their hand in terms of how they're using the TE's. Also its early in camp so they might not have installed the plays where the TE's are very involved yet

I didn't hear that, but I figured as much.

And the OG spots will be vastly improved this year.

Blocking is blocking, it doesn't matter how vanilla the offense being run is. If that last two sentences are true, then there would be no reason for Ryan to feel compelled to comment, because he would already know better.

Sounds to me like the TE's in general are half-assing their blocking assignments and Rex wants to see a little more concentration and effort.

                              I think you are right.

Rex wants to light a fire in these guys & blocking is blocking.

On the bright side, that is a pretty good group on defense that the offense is trying to block.
