All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
I cant remember the last time we looked this good in our first preseason game.
It was 2003 or 2004 when we made our massive defensive spending spree.. And that first preseason game, I remember seeing our guys literally leaping over blockers and smashing the RB at times.
We looked good for once. Nervous about our CBs. Good for Darby to get burned a bit.
For a decade plus on this board, I've taken **** for criticizing the team for preseason performance. Now, someone comes out with a raging boner for a preseason game that we lost. In all honesty, I haven't seen the game yet so I can't take a position on how well we played. But why hasn't this post been destroyed because "it's only the first preseason game" the way realistic but negative assessments of the first preseason game have been in the past?
year after year, decade after decade, fans get boners or suicidal based on how things looked in preseason ... only to be jolted back to reality and remember what they always forget pre-september:
first and second teams were amazingly sharp for the first preseason game
even ej looked good, albeit let down by his teammates with two brutal first down drops and two horrendous shotgun snaps, until he short hopped a wide open o'micky after a beautiful scramble. he needs to have fixed that by now

Once again, you're making it about me.
It's not about me. It's about how supposedly premature negative assessments are summarily dismissed whereas supposedly premature positive assessments are accepted. Nothing I can say or do will change that hypocrisy.

preseason is meaningless
I don't know. i remember last year coming out of preseason and everyone was lamenting the HORRIFIC offense. that horrific offense kept us out of playoff contention. The offense looked pretty good tonight. Nothing earth shattering but much much better then last seasons train-wreck.
My wife told me that if I had a dollar for every girl who found me unattractive, girls would find me VERY attractive.
yeah but if i predict the stock market every year i can always look back and say remember last year when i said xxxxx? well i was right! forget the other twelve years i was wrong ...
preseason is as close to meaningless as it gets. every year there are teams that go oh-fer and teams that go undefeated, only to pull a mr hyde when the games count
i would be thrilled if the first and second units really were as good as they looked, especially the offense. aint counting on it

You were looking for someone to shoot down the original post and then whine when someone shoots down yours ? You call his a premature positive post ?At least he watched the game. What does that make yours even though you haven't seen the game? Nothing but a crybaby post.
