Cassel had a fairly good night. EJ was sharpest, most decisive & accurate with throws. Tyrod wasn't dreadful but not great by any stretch.

We know Pettine loves to blitz & get after the QB & I would expect that was the reason for many of those sacks.

It's actually fairly decent...

Kruger can get after the QB off the edge.

The strength of the defense is their secondary though, even if Justin Gilbert has been a failure so far.

He had a scope on his knee to repair a torn meniscus last...apparently his recovery is coming along slower than anticipated.

I'm guessing he's gonna end up on short term IR and be out til week 7.

Dunno if he'll ever amount to much as a player as he's undersized but he's a guy who gives it his all every down and is liked by Pettine so he'll get his chances as long as he's healthy.
