Marone is a bad person and a worse coach. He fancies himself an OL guru. But he took a unit that led CJ Spiller to a season average of 5.6 YPC and turned it into one of the worst run blocking units in the league in a matter of two years. With substantially the same players and a GM that did invest pretty heavily in OL talent in the draft.

Our coaching is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the clown show we had in here last year.

The very best thing that ever happened to this franchise in the last two decades was Doug Moron's out-clause.

That is why I never wrote off EJ. He got benched after the Houston game where no NFL QB could have done anything. Cyril Richardson and Erik Pears starting at guard. CJ Spiller running as a fullback on every 1st down. Of course I was concerned that Marrone ruined him. Even Orton looked best when he didn't know the Hackett playbook! EJ looked like someone had slipped something in his recovery water last pre-season as he robotically tried to perform a college offense against other NFL teams.

Fast forward to now. Real offensive line. Elite practices that get all QB's more reps. Vanilla play-calling still puts QB's in positions to make quick decisions and get the ball out. My only fear is what Thurman Thomas was mentioning. Roman leaving us after the Bills go the AFC Championship game.

Sadly, we are going to lose Roman. I just hope the league is dumb enough to give him to us for one more year. The dude is money. And it's not a matter of salary. Even if T-pegs drops 5 million on the dude per year (he's worth HC money as an OC) it's not about that. It's about career advancement. He will earn that and we should all be happy for him.

But damn.. Please give us a few seasons Greg? Please...

I'm 36 years old. I was born and raised to love this team. After the glory years we had 8 games of good offensive planning from Kevin Killdrive. Then we had Chan. Literally every other OC we've had sucked ass-hole. The team looked like a pop-warner club.

The difference between Roman and Hacket-Moron could not be more obvious.

This is a real NFL offense. So real that our three "terrible" QBs are all playing like viable NFL starters.

Enjoy it while it lasts. You don't get this kind of DC/OC quality coaching very often in life.

Our best game last year by far was the game against the Jets after the blizzard. A game they played after not practicing once the whole week. That's all you need to know about the Marrone/Hackett system.

As much as I want to agree especially since I dislike Marrone more than Bellicheat, I have to wait til regular season.
