The wife of Tampa Bay defensive tackle Warren Sapp filed for divorce Monday.

In court documents filed in Tampa, Jamiko Sapp said her five-year marriage to the Buccaneers standout is "irretrievably broken" and asked for shared custody of the couple's two young children, as well as their home and its contents in the posh subdivision of Avila until the dwelling can be sold.

She also suggested that Mercedes, 7, and Warren II, 2, reside with her "in the best interest of the children," according to the filings. She seeks "shared parental responsibility" and child support.

Neither the Sapps, who the documents say are separated, nor their attorneys were available for comment.

Jamiko Sapp also is asking for her husband to pay "temporary, rehabilitive and lump-sum alimony for support," adding that the husband is "well able to pay same," and legal fees.
