    Lightning shuts down Bucs

LAKE BUENA VISTA - The Bucs were only halfway through this afternoon's two- hour practice when lightning and thunder cracked in the distance and Coach Jon Gruden blew the whistle to end the session.

The team left the field immediately for the locker rooms. Some players stayed to lift weights, but most dressed and returned to the team headquarters at Celebration.

``There are a lot of lightning strikes in Florida this time of year, so you don't mess around with this stuff,'' Gruden said, before running for cover himself.

The lightning and thunder continued in the distance for 30 minutes after the Bucs evacuated the fields at Disney's Wide World of Sports, but no rain ever fell. The storm eventually passed without directly hitting the area.
