Chiefs of 2003 stack up well against the Chiefs of 1995

RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Years ago we used to evaluate the Chiefs' roster from one to 53. Carl Peterson prided himself on building an attrition-proof football team, a squad that could survive a rash of injuries. Peterson approached the season like it was a marathon.

That all changed in the late 1990s, when Marty Schottenheimer tried to win with a collection of stars. Marty chose to roll the dice and hope that he had a team at the end of the year that could sprint with anybody.

Well, this season Peterson may have put together the best of both worlds. The Chiefs could field their strongest team from one to 53, and if Priest Holmes is healthy, the Chiefs could have the league's most talented player, too.
