    Most boring football ever

I don't know about you guys, but watching the last two weeks and this Giants game tonight, Goodell has really dropped the ball bringing an entertaining product to the field. The amount of penalties, almost 50% of all good plays gets called back, the boring dink and dunk passing, the stoppages, the lack of plays in the game, the accelerated play clock. Not only that, the simplest most obvious replay overturn takes apparently a jury decision to overturn the most obvious calls.
Incredibly boring product living off past accomplishments. Games in Europe. Really?
He needs to spend money for honest real officials. Real NFL ball handlers. Put the time back in the game, fewer commercials or longer games. Cause this product is a whisper of what it once was.

Too much power, too much money, and too much control.

Sounds like Washington, D.C. and New York.

        How fitting.

Uh, Goodell doesn't schedule the games himself, you know.

Refs could throw flags every play if they really wanted to.

Want to blame anyone, blame the majority of NFL players for low football IQs and being undisciplined.

the overzealous refereeing started last season. idk if they are doing it on purpose but last year was unbearable in regards to how much the refs were inserting themselves into the game and that trend appears to be continuing now

the overemphasis on qbs has been going on for a while now. the rules have been continually changed to promote more scoring in an attempt to make the games more entertaining and thus palatable to less than knowledgeable fans, but the net effect is to make the qb position into gridiron gods. id like to see them go back to allowing contact with receivers down the field and thus demphasize the qbs, but that wont happen

and who know wtf goes on under those replay hoods. way too many times you see something clear as day in replays only to have the refs come out and announce something that makes absolutely no sense, like they werent even watching the same replays. at this point i think you could literally just hand the refs a coin to flip and you would have the same level of accuracy in the replay calls

Noticed the flags are flying like a French surrender.

I guess the NFL mandated that flags be thrown on every ST's play this year. It's getting out of control.

The refs will ease up as the season goes on.

Be nice the man's been busy. he spent 7 months arguing about a 1/2 pound of air pressure in some footballs it's not like he hasn't accomplished anything for the game.

What, you don't like being reminded about Draftkings every 35 seconds?

We are watching the NFL jump the shark before our very eyes.

Penalties are just brutal....for all teams except the Cheatriots.

                              Re: Most boring football ever

I'm unable to watch football as it is now played unless I have a real rooting interest. (Which means that unless the Bills are playing I never watch football anymore.) To watch a guy like Brady throw sixty 8-yard rub/pick routes is my idea of tedium. Since it's a copycat league and the Patriots are the current model of success, we're seeing one team after another adopt the same unwatchable formula.

When football is at its best, the run/pass ratio hovers around 50 percent/50 percent. What we've got now looks like kids playing Madden.

And don't even get me started about the phantom, completely subjective, indecipherable and impossible to explain penalties which have come to dominate the proceedings.
