Coach Butch Davis threw a training camp practice yesterday, but none of the honored guests showed up.

All seven of the Browns draft picks held out of the first day of rookie training camp because they remain unsigned.

"I don't know that I've ever seen that - not on any team I've ever been on," Davis said. "You'd have liked to think we'd have a couple of guys signed. I know we're being very aggressive and very fair. Cleveland has a history of paying very well, so hopefully we'll be able to get this done."

Davis warned that some of the late-round picks might not make the team if they miss much time. Veterans begin practicing on Friday.

"We've got some damn good competition and we're going to cut some guys that are pretty good for the first time," Davis said. "Every practice is an opportunity to make an impression on us and you're not going to make many impressions sitting at home." MORE...
