There is a growing likelihood that Kyle Boller will be a holdout when the Ravens open training camp Monday.

A major gap exists in the first proposals between the team and the agent for the first-round quarterback. With five days remaining before the team's first practice, it will be difficult for the sides to bridge the difference.

Boller, who was taken with the 19th overall pick in the draft, was expected to go against Chris Redman in an open competition in training camp.

If Boller does not report Monday, Ravens coach Brian Billick has said the strong-armed quarterback would not be allowed to compete to be the team's season-opening starter.

That's a likely scenario based on yesterday's wide-ranging proposals, which came four days after the team's chief negotiator, Pat Moriarty, had a meeting with agent Mike Sullivan.

"They are asking Kyle to take a gigantic decrease from the signing bonus given to the 19th pick last year," Sullivan said. MORE... (http://www.sunspot.net/sports/football/bal-sp.ravens23jul23,0,4347449.story?coll=bal-sports-football)
