Coach Tony Dungy expects 100 percent participation when the Indianapolis Colts open a three-day pre-training camp session for rookies this morning at the Union Federal Football Center.
It remains to be seen if that will hold true when the real deal gets under way Sunday.
Because the three days of work for rookies is voluntary, unsigned draft picks are allowed to participate. As of late Tuesday, all eight of the Colts' draft picks were unsigned.
Dungy said he expects the draft picks, along with 20 undrafted rookies, to be on hand this morning. The three-day camp is closed to the public.
"It's not training camp. It's not mandatory work," Dungy said. "The idea is to bring these guys in and give them a head start on training camp.
"For the most part, the guys know it's to help them."
The NFL's rules for participation, though, change Sunday.
Players must report for camp at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind., by 2:30 p.m. Only players under contract are allowed to report. MORE...
