    Eagles struggle to sign draftees

    Three days before they must report to training camp at Lehigh University, the Eagles' three top draft picks remain unsigned.

    Although Eagles President and chief negotiator Joe Banner remains optimistic that all three - defensive end Jerome McDougle, tight end L.J. Smith and wide receiver Billy McMullen - will be on hand for Friday night's meeting, the team has had rough times with the agents for all three players involved.

    Start with McDougle. His agent is Drew Rosenhaus, the same agent who negotiated Hugh Douglas' new contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Smith is represented by Brian Mackler, who sent linebacker Shawn Barber to Kansas City this offseason. MORE...
