All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
I mentioned this in a different thread about our CB's, but I'd like to see Leodis McKelvin move to safety when he returns if Aaron Williams is really going to IR. I think it's a position he would excel at and it would allow them to put all their best DB's on the field.

I'm generally not a big fan of moving guys out of their natural position but you are right that it would allow us to have our best DB's all on the field. Darby and Gilmore are both playing well and it would be unwise and unfair to bench either of them.

If Aaron Williams and Graham can both move from CB to S and become better players, I don't see why Leodis can't do the same, or at least be an upgrade over Rambo or Duke Williams. But I don't know how tough it would be to transition during the season while coming back from an injury. Aaron and Corey had full off-seasons to make the switch.
It looks like the Bills have in fact put A. Williams on IR-designated to return and have signed S Josh Bush.

Corey Graham played a lot of safety before he came to Buffalo, so the transition was already complete.
Generally, older DBs move to safety because they can read the play and react to it, rather then having to physically match up with a younger wideout. I don't know that a move to safety suits Leodis' strengths as a player, but who knows what they've been preparing him for during his rehab.
Not good. Aaron really put it together as a solid safety the past year and I feel much more comfortable with him out there vs. Rambo, Duke, Meeks, et al. Seems to be a pretty vocal team leader as well.
Switching Leodis to safety might be something to look at in 2016 if he isn't a cap casualty, but after being injured for about a year now and asking him to switch positions immediately, mid season might be too much to ask for. If/when he comes back 100% this year, the Bills have the best top 4 CBs in the league. That'll help if Aaron doesn't come back this year.
