Bills #2 rushing offense in the NFL

Wow, we also didn't lose any fumbles as well:

ESPN is the place for NFL stats! Find a list of the Offense Total team stat leaders for the 2023 NFL Regular Season.

If our defense gets it's stuff together, we will be a force. Jets had the #1 rushing defense going our game, we're still averaging 4.8 yards as well.

They are only counting rushing plays in that stat. EJ had a fumble 6 vs the Jaguars, for instance.

Would you call EJ a Running back or was it a QB lost fumble ? So if it wasn't a rushing play, how would it count against the rushing offense ?

Because sacks go against qb rushing totals.

Well there you go, it's based on the position (rightfully so).

#2 in yds/game, tied for #2 in yds/rush, and tied for #1 in TD's. Not bad when you consider how much time Shady and Karlos have missed, and that Shady has been less than 100% for most of the games he's played.

Only in college. In the pros they count against passes.

I just wanted to kinda dampen the enthusiasm for that stat because we're still top 5 in most team fumbles.

normally its mostly the oline thats responsible for rushing success but i gotta say i think shady is the main reason here. he really is that good and makes the oline look better than it is. a lot of karlos' success is due to the defense preparing so much for shady, as we saw karlos struggle when shady was out. idk how much shady has left in terms of his elite skills but for now anyway he looks as good as any rb in the league

yeah i was just about to say that. nfl sack yardage has always been subtracted from passing totals to get net passing yds, at least as long as i can remember

Pretty good in fact. I admit I would have guessed they were a lot lower.

It's pretty shocking and speaks volumes about how well our O-line has played on the rush.

Taylor and EJ account for 301 of those rushing yards, or almost a full 25%.

I know it's nice to post a flashy stat, but I've always been leery of team rushing totals that are inflated by running QB's (*cough*San Fran and Kap*cough*)...they don't necessarily tell the true story of how the running game is really performing.

Take away the QB yardage and compare the new totals to the team right behind Buffalo (Pittsburgh) whose QB's only account for 93 of their total 1261. That essentially pits Buffalo's 980 yards against the Steeler's 1168, which is a significant difference. Granted, the YPC for Buffalo even without the QB's is impressive.
