All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

Bills planning to cut Mario Williams this offseason
The Buffalo Bills plan to cut pass rusher Mario Williams in the offseason, the Associated Press reports. Williams has two years remaining on his six-year, $100 million contract.
Mario Williams is playing his final game in Buffalo on Sunday.
The Associated Press reported Thursday that the Bills plan to cut the defensive end this offseason, per an unnamed source with direct knowledge of discussions.
Every game, all season
The report meshes with NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport stating earlier this month that the disgruntled Williams could reach the free agent market. There is a "clear, fundamental disconnect" between coach Rex Ryan and his defensive line and Williams might be at the heart of the trouble, Rapoport said at the time.

Wrecks is here
Never fear
He just needs
Another year

Since day one I felt the best part of signing Mario was the fact that Buffalo was willing to pay the big money to sign a premiere free agent.
It made us relevant and a real player in free agency.
Mission accomplished.
I don't like that we are gutting the defense to adopt Rex's **** scheme but Mario way under-performed and is no longer worth the money.
Yup. That really is the #1 thing he brought to the table. Otherwise, way overpriced for his production, which never lived up to the "super mario" nickname where he was supposed to disrupt and dominate games.
He'll get a chance somewhere else to be pass rush specialist, not an every down DE. And that will work for him since he already takes off 50-60% of the plays anyway. Has ever since he got here. The issue is $, I'm very curious what he'll get, since any team to pay him $19M should be declared clinically insane.
he'll be in NE next year. happily playing OLB, and rolling up 20 sacks in an LT like season.
Cause that's just how buffalo rolls.
Normally I'd say yes, but....there's zero chance they will pay $19M as it's not the "patriot way". So, either Whinio takes a pay cut and decides he wants to win before he's done, or he shops himself to some stupid team willing to pay it out. Honestly, my guess is the latter. You just get the feeling he's in it for the $$$, not the love of the game.

i would have said the same thing about a number of the vets they signed for well under market value. I think the appeal of winning a superbowl is still pretty good to 30+ yo players with tens of millions of dollars in the bank.
My wife told me that if I had a dollar for every girl who found me unattractive, girls would find me VERY attractive.

May as well get it out of the way. I'm already resigned to losing Kyle also, and needing to rebuild the defense again in a couple years anyway once Ryan is booted.
