Good Lord, I can't believe anyone would think otherwise. It was 4th-and-inches after the run. Ended up around the 10-yardline for a chip-shot.
Walsh already made 3 fieldgoals that that point, too. One with the laces out on the kick...I think on the 47-yarder. If I remember correctly, the Seahawks declined a FG attempt from a similar distance from that earlier in the game.
Just a freak thing. Maybe he choked, maybe it was the laces out...we'll never know. Could be because of the cold. The cold was definitely a big factor, I'd say. The holder was wearing gloves, so it made it pretty impossible for him to spin the ball laces out, for one thing.
