He's only interested in being the legend in his own mind, Johnny "Money" Manziel, mistreated, misunderstood quarterbacking, team leading machine.

I forget half of my posts here soon after but I would be surprised if I was one of the guys that wanted him. I hate jackalopes like him.

Missed the last game of the season because of a "concussion", spotted the night before in Vegas. Eff you. You have a headache? Here's a clipboard. Hold it.

Why are people still talking about Johnny Manziel? At least Tebow had some fun wins to go with the wild throws. Manziel just gets blacked out on Saturday and blown out on Sunday. Who cares?

Alcoholism is a nasty disease. Period. Nothing rational or logical about it or the one gripped with it whether they know it or not.

his being cut could save his life or kill him. Only 2 options.

I honestly think he's gonna end up in a body bag. Not saying that's what I want or anything like that. Just wanna say that before someone stupidly suggest so.

This dude is sooo out of touch with reality that its only a matter of time before it gets to him for real.

Good post. It would strain my memory to recount the (personal observation of) domestic damages, the (somewhat usual) turn to vodka in the waning days. You would be hard pressed to find it on the internet, but during Prohibition, the personal tragedies caused by alcohol took a drop...what is glorified is the rise in organized crime as the reason to end it.

Your head is screwed on straight, Sukie.

I'm a recovered alcoholic. Those that were alcoholic during prohibition... they still drank. Bath tub gin is a term for obvious reasons.

Indeed they did. But my point is that with prohibition, alcohol availabilty was less convenient, so that the non-addicted had a lessened chance to go on a toot. You know what alcohol can do - a toot is a toot, and folks without a particular history can act out of character and sometimes mayhem occurs.

Glad for the recovery. If things hit, PM anytime.

It all starts with the propensity for "tooting". It's the consequences that reveal the potential problem. Johnny needs a consequence. Without consequence there is no recovery. I work with many families of addicts of many substance... the substance , in my case alcohol, wasn't and never was the problem. You have a grasp but many don't. They think "Hey, just stop!". Alcohol is the "sneeze" in a bad cold. The cold doesn't go away by simply refusing to sneeze.

Wise words my friend

You have to get at the underlining issue that leads to the addiction.

Johny needs to have a 'come to Jesus' moment where he is confronted with the truth of his actions.

he doesn't need so much a "come to Jesus" moment as much as he needs to stop thinking HE is in control of anything.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/browns/2016/02/04/johnny-manziel-ex-girlfriend-police-report/79845088/

A woman who describes herself as the ex-girlfriend of Johnny Manziel said that Manziel struck her several times and that the Cleveland Browns quarterback appeared as if he “were on some kind of drugs” during their altercation in the Dallas area early Saturday, according to a Fort Worth police report released Thursday.

He thinks he has all the time in the world to get serious, and can have "fun" for now. Football has a short memory. Shame he's wrecking himself. I think he'll end up in the clink though, not dead.

With an eye to the the particular brand of ethics that guides the NFL, I guess it means Manzeil to Dallas is a sure thing. :offair:

Heard something, mid radio conversation, that in Dallas , Michael Irvin might be one to work with him considering he's recovered from addiction.

Johnny need to be bounced first misstep in Dallas if this happens. Bounced and his contract should be (instead of performance enhanced) consequence laiden. You do this you forfeit this... This happens you are released. Nothing is guaranteed.

Johnny needs a serious consequence pronto. I hope he realizes one soon.

3 things will happen.

1. Jail or institution.

2. Death

3. Recovery

When he was drafted, I joked that Manziel rather than Vick was going to be the one re-enacting The Longest Yard. I'm worried it's getting prophetic.
