I lost a bet with Mace and gooby.

I haven't really settled on a rooting interest either, I just hope it's a great game not controlled by officiating.

First time ever I'm not interested in the game, the halftime show or the commercials at all. This is the worst pairing of teams ever.

Really? Manning's last game, will likely be brought up 100 million times to define his legacy? Cam Newton and the #1 scoring offense vs. the #1 scoring defense? Luke Kuechly and Von Miller trying to remind people that Watt isn't the only elite defender in the league? There's a lot to like about this matchup IMO.

Weather should be clear and in the 70s at kickoff

Love defense. This is a great match up.

The Panthers torched Seattle and Arizona in the playoffs.

Seattle was ranked 2nd in overall defense, and the Cards were ranked 5th overall on defense.

But that's the NFC.

In the regular season, Carolina faced 3 good defenses. Houston, Seattle, and Tennessee.

Denver faced 6 good defenses. Baltimore, Kansas City, Minnesota, New England, Pittsburgh, and the Bengals.

I think each team's defense is a scratch.

Super Bowl L will be decided by the best offense.

Ingtar33
02-07-2016, 01:14 PM
Well this will be anticlimactic -

I would have chosen both Seattle and Arizona over the Broncos in the Superbowl, so it's a no brainer to take the team that torched them both over the broncos. The spread started with a sucker bet Carolina by 3.5; If i was a betting man i would have taken out a mortgage on the house and put it all on Carolina. The line is only 5.5 now, which tells me a lot of people in the USA haven't actually watched either team this year. This is still the dumbest point spread in superbowl history. Carolina will curb stomp Denver. It probably will be a 20+ point lead by halftime; and we might see Brock Osweiler before the end of the game.

I don't see the Denver offense being able to keep up with the Panthers offense, #1 defense or not. Cam Newton is not Tom Brady, and the Pats still came close and should have beat Denver.
My feeling is the Panthers should kick the Broncos ass, unless the NFL gifts it to Manning as a going away prize, which wouldn't surprise me.

And what I saw was the Panthers being 5 1/2 point favorites right from the beginning.

Phantom defensive holding call on Bronco's first drive (which wasn't necessary but would have given Denver a first down) and bad call on the challenge.

I was thinking about that. It's sort of different when you can actually use them to cover and still have a pass rush. It's still beyond Rex, evidently, shame he claims to be more of a genius innovator than Wade claims to be, and isn't in the Super Bowl.

You know, I cannot grasp why anyone inflates and freezes their cheeks, shrinks their eyes by freezing their foreheads, and giving themselves overinflated wax lips while the results are just about everywhere that they can see and be horrified by.

Elway is looking damn lovely though aging without apology thought I never did like his damn grin.

His toothy grin is that much less not sincere than Ryan's, who is way more likely to botox himself and keep pasting that same stupid grin on his face. You think of him as Wrecks, I still think of him as Nicholson's Joker.

Puff, puff, pass. Pass it man.

Tyrod Taylor is faster than Cam Newton.

Most important of all is how Taylor is a lot more accurate as a passer.

Cam made some bad passes early in the game. No accuracy.

T-Mobile is also a lot more humble.

I gotta give Denver credit, they earned it the hard way.

I think people were overlooking the fact that Carolina is in a division with three cream puffs....kinda padded their W-L record.

OTOH, it seems that over the last few years, a team that gets hot in Nov and Dec can win it all.

DraftBoy

Great game by Denver last night and all credit is due to them. That defense is incredible and their game plan had Newton confused all night long. I was disappointed in the way Newton handled his post-game press conference but he's young and he'll continue to learn. I expect Carolina to be in the thick of it next year again. Benjamin being back will help them a lot.

Well he's over emotional and immature, collapsing to the ground when Denver got the td & 2 point conversion was, well, like a little kid. But maybe that's just how he always will be, and he still had a hella season and got that far to do it.

Marshawn's press interactions were always bizarre, and kind of childish too.

To me the key thing was how he congratulated Peyton. An over emotional, immature QB for another team doesn't hurt my feelings any. I came to have fun watching the big goof, and I sort of felt bad along with him too. Oh well. On to 2016.

Marshawn was like that win-lose or draw. no one really cared because it didn't matter what happened he just didn't like talking to the press. Newton is everyone's friend when things go right. But before the panthers went on this winning streak, he acted like a baby for years. Still acting like a baby i guess. I knew the moment he came out for the interview he was going to bail. just the look on his face said it all.
