This sums it up nicely.
Cam Newton is the anti-Don Beebe

Cam had to know that not recovering that fumble was the end of it all.
He said he didn't want to injure his leg because at the time he would've had to bend "awkwardly" or something like that
Dude, the season is all but over at that point, what little chance your team had went away when you *****ed out. Besides you've been diving head first all season long at defenders on your punishing runs. All of a sudden you are scared of getting hurt ? ... Nah bro you had checked out well before that and were just mailing it in.

but what the hell...let's define him by catching a 300 lb DT from behind.
Don Beebe has a Super Bowl ring. And he came from Chadron State.
You have an odd definition of the word underachiever.
Or you're just not very ****ing bright.

He as faster than Lofton
faster than TT
faster than Tim Brown
faster than Willie Gault
faster than Marquis Goodwin
infinitely faster than Andre Reed
infinitely faster than Jerry Rice
And yet, he never was more than a 3rd WR and an average one at that.
If you superimposed him running the 40 with Andre Reed running it..it would look like a Rich Eisen race.
But despite being blessed with world class speed...and I DO mean world class...he didn't improve his route running, didn't imporve his hands, didn't put on weight through a strength and conditioning program. Hell, he didn't even bother to develop a double move down the sideline like Lee Evans.
Even as a returner...where pure speed guys often thrive...a single KR TD in his career (w/Green Bay).
But let's judge his career on his ability to run down a hot dogging 300 lb. lineman.
Yeah..I'm the one that's not too bright.

If you look at that meme and what you get out of it is that its intent is to sum his career up on one play, you're a ****ing idiot.
It's clear to even an imbecile that the comparison being made is between two players and how they comported themselves in the fourth quarter of two Super Bowls.
One guy, the one on the left, mailed it in. Didn't even bother to jump in the pile and fight for the ball, despite the fact that his team was only down by 6 points.
The other guy never stopped competing. He showed pride and character late in the fourth quarter, in a totally lost cause. But he set an example by playing the full sixty minutes, running down a hotdogging buffoon.
The Packers apparently thought more of Beebe's game than you do. They paid him money to come play for them. They all have rings now. You sit behind a keyboard.
Have your caretaker help explain it to you.

And you're comparing him to several Hall of Famers who were freakishly gifted athletes.
And yet, none of them played in 6 Super Bowls. Except the underachiever from Chadron ****ing State.
I mean, all the other guys from Chadron State won multiple Super Bowls. What a slacker Beebe was.
If speed is the key, then why isn't Usain Bolt raking in millions as an NFL receiver? Way faster than Beebe. 6' 5" 207 lbs.
