When John Elway got his hands on the Lombardi Trophy, he raised it and said "This one's for Pat"
His statement was a response to the time Elway was finally victorious after going 0-3 in his 1st 3 Super Bowls and Pat Bowlen, the Broncos owner (who is now ill and suffering from dementia and is no longer involved in the running of the team, but is still listed as the owner) raised up the Lombardi Trophy and proclaimed "This one's for John".
Elway was finally able to return the favor, even though the man he was saying it to may never know, but I'm sure it was greatly appreciated by the Bowlen family.
