The NFL improperly used money and now has to throw the money back into the pool which effectively raises the cap by another 1.5 mil per team? Strange. But, we'll take it. Every little bit helps.

Not sure why you think that. You pay now or pay later. The more you defer, the more dead money piles up. When you pay so many people so well, you have to start cutting them, you start cutting good players you make holes.

I've seen articles about how they can free up 27-29 million, but then if you resign Glenn & Incognito that takes a chunk. Signing rookies will take about 4.8 million (up from last year because we have a 1st round pick. That's less than 10 million left already and what if Taylor does well ? You have to have money to sign replacements for in-season injuries.

Freeing up the money adds needs. Swing g/c Urbik, McKelvin, Bradham have to go. Already need enough with only 6 picks in the draft.

I think it makes sense to worry about available cap on an 8-8 team.
