If someone could edit the title and put a small "a" in Mario, that would be great.

Also:

So sad. I liked Mario but he was half-assing it. The draft if full of DEs and LBs so we should be OK.

Loved him up until this past season. Lost a bit of respect for him after the "efforts" he put forth. Still think he's a hell of a player.

He was one of our best D-Ends ever, but the relationship has run its course.

It's sad to see how good this defense could have been and what it's turned into. But Mario was not putting in any effort during games. We really had no choice with the cap situation and his lack of effort and everything.

looking forward to his huge game vs the bills when he's on the pats. I agree that he didn't fit and that's an issue with Rex. but they wasted a lot of talent that they now are rebuilding something that should have been competent.

Would be scary on the fins in a true 4-3 next to Suh.

We paid him a lot to just up and give up last season. Still, I wish him the best.

No ill held towards Mario. Sure he mailed it in in 2015. Part of me doesn't blame him given the bumbling moron he had as head coach.

But for the most part of his deal he was an absolute beast. Don't let this last year make you forget just how good he was from 2012 to 2014

He had his good moments, and had his loafing moments. Wish I could have seen more of him at a renegotiated salary in the wide-9 though, and less of him going through the motions or keeping his uniform clean by never ending up on the ground (pre and post wide-9).

He never really influenced games like you'd expect from a player paid in the elite range. I was trying to figure it out, the best I could come up with is that he was a "good" player with elite skills who would have preferred a low key career where he could emerge in games at his convenience but not have people expect it regularly because he's only into it when he's into it so expectations harsh his buzz.

I think he actually had fun playing the game with Schwartz, and if he gets back to Schwartz, he'll bring his "A" game again. I don't think he really cares about the money anymore. We'll see I guess.

Not a fan of this

Anyone else see him going off on our piss poor right tackles ??

He's gonna be pissed he was bad mouthed (rightfully so) and he's gonna want to prove to Rex he's still got it.

Done deal. 8 mil per season.

The silver lining in this, is maybe Cameron Wake is on his way out.

So all it provides is pretty much a lateral move for the Fish.

Unfortunately for us we're in no position to achieve a lateral move of our own.

Tannerhill might be the happiest guy with the Mario signing: no more sacks and fumble from Mario.

Why did Mario take $8M to play somewhere else than take a pay cut and stay here?

He hated the scheme and there's no state income tax in Florida.

He likely paid millions to change the scheme?

He likely paid millions to change the scheme?

That depends on the pay cut he was being asked to take.

I'm fine with the move (cutting Mario). He's going to be 32 when the season starts. Better one year too soon than one year too late in my opinion.

But I still gave Buddy credit to sign Mario. It changed the image of the Bills that they won't sign name player because of money at the time.

I give credit to him too, we got three quality seasons and two elite pass defenses out of it. I just wish we would stop ****ing changing the defensive philosophy every 18 months so we could build on it.

That's what you get for changing HC so often. Philosophy change dictates schema changes. Like it or not, I hope Rex stays through his contract. 10+ year coaches might be too long except elite coaches. 6 - 7 year coaching for proven average coaches might be about the right time.
