First of all, no. He is on pace to get perhaps 25 which is fine in today's low-scoring, defensive-schemed game.

And no, there have been several Sabre rookies who have score over 30 goals. Perreault had 37, Martin had 44, Gare had 31, Sheppard had 38, Audette had 31. But all those were in more free-wheeling days. In 1990, Eichel would have had 40 easy.

Perrault's 37 and Martin's 44 were both records for a rookie... Martin broke Perrault's mark set a year earlier.

Didn't Perreault and Martin set rookie records for their totals? Until Bossey came along. Man, I like Ric Seiling but taking him over Bossey is the all time most unfortunate draft decision in Sabres history I believe.
