Bills close to bringing back WR Hankerson

Bills 'really close' to re-signing Hankerson
Leonard Hankerson remains unsigned now two weeks after officially hitting the free-agent market, but it still appears likely that he'll return to the Buffalo Bills in 2016.General manager Doug Whaley told the team's official website at the NFL owners meetings Tuesday that the team is nearing a deal to re-sign the free-agent wide receiver."We're really close to getting a deal done with Leonard Hankerson," Whaley said. "We're going to have a collection of guys who have had experience in the league, and have produced in the league."Hankerson only suited up for one game after landing in Buffalo as a waiver claim in December, but the late-season transaction was almost certainly made with a long-term outlook. The 27-year-old had hauled in 26 receptions for 327 yards and three touchdowns in eight games spent with the Atlanta Falcons to start the 2015 season. If re-signed, he'll enter training camp with an opportunity to compete for snaps opposite No. 1 wideout Sammy Watkins.

He didn't have bad numbers in eight games for the Falcons last year. What happened there to get him cut?

He would be smart to sign with the Bills. Looking over the Bills' WR roster, he has a great shot to stick around.

I wouldn't really care one way or another, though if Belichick, the Redskins and Falcons weren't interested in, I'm not sure what he'll bring to our table besides maybe replacing a guy Belichick WAS interested in while Matt Ryan, Tom Brady and even Kirk Cousins won't be throwing to him.

There's a lot of spots that need to be filled to hit the 90 for training camp. At least Hankerson might have a legit shot at the roster.

Bills not drafting a WR. D Front 7, OT and QB.

Watson and I will now return to Baker St.

The last time the Bills made the playoffs was 1999.

Wouldn't be a bad choice for the 3rd or 4th receiver.

Did show something early in his career at Washington.

He easily replaces Chris Hogans' production on this roster.

I don't know, nor care who this Hankerson guy is, but I do know that we need a #2 badly...

Or, are still holding up hope for Harvin?...LOL

Percy Harvin was our best WR until he did a David Letterman.

Can't argue it, though to me it's not good, not bad. He's a maybe, that's ok. He's going to have Taylor throwing to him, dunno how that is. No issue though with seeing what he's got.

I can't wait until Harvin signs so they can be IR buddies.

Hankerson nor Hogan were as good as Naaman Roosevelt.
