All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
This is only a test
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

I'd be pretty pissed if we spent 5 of 8 picks in this draft on (basically) offensive skill positions. Three, tops, and that would PK, developmental QB, and WR. Maybe a TE replacing one of those if one drops...maybe. I don't want to hear RB or FB until it's UDFA time.

That's a lot of risk taking Jaylon Smith that high.
For someone that was considered a top 10 pick before his injury, I don't think the second is a reach at all. The question is if we can afford to spend an early pick on a player that may not play in 2016

Im going to say no... Whoever they draft in the 2nd Round they need that player to be able to start and contribute right away.. is it a player who gives them Darby/Alonzo production or Kouandjio production could go either way but I don't think Rex can afford a 2nd round pick who doesn't play at all

If you believe this may be a play-off team this year, the answer is no.
If you correctly believe that this is not even close to be a play-off team this year, the answer is yes.
The problem is that if we do not make the play-offs this year, Rex scapegoats Doug and Doug is gone because Rex will have 3 years left on his contract.
As such, Doug is no fool and will be drafting players for the short-term rather than the long-term.
Counting on rookies to help you make the play-offs is a fool's game.

WR and QB are givens IMO. FB is a reach for sure. RB is a on our radar IMO. Karlos has troubles with Injuries, McCoy can't do it all in our run happy offense.
Unless they do something in free agency, which doesn't seem likely, I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't draft a single O-lineman with one of their 8 picks.
I'd also be a little surprised if we don't draft a DB either.

Well I would too, but he's the GM in this thread and just kicked us out of his office and is having us escorted to the door because we drank too much MD 20/20.

Well why, X-era, didn't you get any de's, db's or o-line depth (in a deep line draft) ? I'm just wondering.
So, the main thing was to get the LB's and additional big man we need for the 3-4 switch. Personally I think K is a major need. QB is pretty much a forgone conclusion.
DB's- we singed Blanton and have some depth at S. At CB I like Arenas as much as any mid round pick and I still think a vet like Cromartie is likely.
DE's- The switch to 3-4 makes a NT more important to me. Adding a versatile DT gives us option to fill the starting spots.
O-line depth is already here. Henderson was the question mark and it appears he's going to be fine.
OL is always a common complaint. What are you thinking we need?

Do the Bills currently have a viable back-up interior offensive lineman on their roster?
