Ok, let's get the source scrutiny out of the way. Hockeyfeed is a click bait source. Won't ever deny that. That said, they have been following this for a while, and at one point was even tracking plane traffic, revealing that bettmans private plane, as well as karmonos plane has been frequently visiting QC. is this going to happen? I don't know, I think it's a long shot. But hell, beats d list posters arguing this season is a tank, I suppose.

It should be noted that Daley has refuted to rumors

No arena sadly. The civic center is not really a good option.

Anywhere but North Carolina is a good option. Those people don't know **** about hockey and don't deserve a team.

This.

Normally I hate it when any team moves, only because I don't want to see it happen to my teams. But this needs to happen.

Same here, but when a team moves that was moved in the first place, it's karma. This may be oversimplifying it, but in my view, the franchise was stolen from Hartford. It makes me happy to see it repossessed.

The buffalo media was disgusted and appalled by the lack of energy and excitement regarding the Hurricanes around Raleigh and in the PNC arena during the 2006 Eastern conference finals

IIRC, the Canes lost their first two playoff games to Montreal and the "fans" bailed on them. They only came back after the Canes pulled off the series win. Also, they lucked into that Cup win because when they beat us in the finals, we were basically using the Amerks' defense because we had so many injuries, then Edmonton's goalie got injured in the finals. They really had no business winning that cup.

When my brother was in the Navy in the subs he was stationed at Groton Sub base, we drove to Conn. to celebrate Easter with him and we went to Hartford and passed the Civic Center and there was chains on the doors and a small plaque that was bolted on one of the doors saying "the whale will return to Hartford someday".

They didn't use the civic center for anything else? Minor league hockey, concerts, ice shows, circus, Monster Truck rallies?

Why did they chain shut a still used arena? I think you are lying. Again.

recently saw Pearl Jam in civic center in 2013. it's horribly small and has a hard time accommodating a full house. lines for drinks, food and bathroom. Things that don't happen at modern facilities. the seat count is also pretty small. No way they could reasonably take an NHL team. no boxes either.

My brother did as well.

Sadly, the mall no longer exists-at least not in its prior form.

So the switch to pharma was influenced by an inability to pick up enough sailors to make a decent living?

They should move them to Saskatchewan .

Seven Canadian cities not in the playoffs are enough.

Maybe if they had a regional team between Regina and Saskatoon. I don't think either city could support an NHL franchise on their own and it's a pretty far drive between the two.

How about Halifax? Heck, they could kayak to road games in Boston! ;-)

IF...and that's a really big if...there was a regional team in Saskatchewan, it'd have to be in Saskatoon; the SaskTel Centre holds just over 15,000. Regina's arena only handles 6,000 and change. (This would be the opposite of the CFL, where the Roughriders are based in Regina.)

I'll never forget in 06 when the Sabres were playing the Hurricanes in the conf final we were on vacation in Myrtle Beach. We went to a sports bar one night to watch the game and I was wearing a Sabres jersey. There were 4 local rednecks in Canes gear sitting at the bar and the only **** they could think of to make fun of the Sabres was Thurman Thomas losing his helmet in the Super Bowl.

****ing losers.

I was at game 7. We owned that arena.

It was the beginning of a deep seated hatred that Carolina fans have for Buffalo, and the feeling is mutual.

I usually hate it when teams move, but having to suffer through a Stanley Cup parade less than a mile from my house when I lived in Raleigh makes this case a lot different.

NC fans are *******s and they don't deserve a hockey team. This will be just deserts.

So, a decision has been made about expansion. But these relocation rumors are popping up.

I've read Vegas is getting an expansion team, while the NHL will defer on quebec. So maybe canes to quebec is what is holding up their expansion bid?

Could be nothing. Could be something.

Well the leader of the separatist party who is also in on bringing back a team to Quebec stepped down as leader. I remember hearing how the owners would never let Quebec back in if a separatist was leading the charge.

The NHL has squashed rumors right now. Doesn't mean relocation won't happen, but it appears more likely quebec gets the canes and Vegas gets the expansion
