First, every single one of those helmets was over the top. The logos are too large and they are trying to look ultra modern, like Nike or Under Armour created them. The only one that was remotely cool was the Falcons one and it still isn't great.

Second, the Steelers logo is classic. As much as I don't like the team, messing with their logo/helmet is sacrilege. The only change I would like to see them make is the logo on both sides.

Third, I always kind of like our logo. It doesn't look dated like, say, Cleveland or Miami, but it doesn't look like it's trying too hard to be modern like Seattle, Jacksonville, Tennessee.

In fact, all of those "upgrades" are beyond terrible.

This. All they did was enlarge most of the existing logos and offset them somehow with some modern pattern. Awful. I do actually like the falcons one, mostly bc I think the white looks sharp.

I believe the logo on one side of the helmet has to do with the old steel workers. I believe the logo of their company or whatever was only on one side of their helmets, thus the Steelers implemented it as a homage. I don't see them ever changing that.
