This would be a good signing. With Urbik gone the Bills have no real depth for the interior of the OL and Velasco has played all three positions inside throughout his career.

31 year old vet with a lot of starting experience.

This OL of ours concerns me greatly.

This OL of ours concerns me greatly.

Seems like ten years straight we've been saying that.

I'd be ok with signing him. After Incognito, Wood, and Miller there's absolutely no one on the roster right now inside. Cyril Richardson was worth the fifth round gamble but he looks to be a miss. If Velasco has anything in the tank, I say bring him in for a year. He might compete with Miller for starter at RG. Even if they do bring him in, with Henderson's health concerns and the lack of depth inside I'd still like another versatile C/G type and another Tackle prospect drafted.

Just saw that the Buffalo News is reporting that Velasco has officially signed with the Bills. No details of the contract yet.

With the combination of the failure of switching defensive schemes last season and the personnel losses the team has a lot of holes to fill with warm bodies, and that certainly isn't going to be done with just 8 draft picks.

Good to see some depth for the interior oline being brought in though.

Can he play center? What happens if Wood gets injured?

Yes. He was the Titans starting Center in 2012 for all 16 games.

The picture in YardRat's link also shows him playing Center for the Panthers.

He's a vet body, doesn't hurt.

Velasco has center experience with the Titans, Panthers and Steelers (subbing for injury).

Although Velasco (6-4, 310) grew up in Georgia he was born in Harris, New York, which sits about halfway between Albany and New York City.

LOL. I live halfway between Albany and NYC and have never heard of Harris, NY. I had to look it up.

After doing so I can say I spend an inordinate amount of time between Liberty and Monticello every year and still have never heard of this place.

Looking closer I was in the Catskill Regional ER (https://bit.ly/1ShlLDc) a couple of spring's back getting a fishing fly dislodged from my chin.

NOBODY refers to that area as "Harris, NY."

LOL

Nice try Chris Brown.

Decent depth signing in case Wood needs some time off
