Jets got Clady and Denver's 7th Rounder for a 5th Rounder per multiple reports.

They didn't waste any time filling 'Brick's shoes.

Not sure they did. Clady has played a total of 18 games the past 3 years, he might be made of ancient papyrus.

Well, OK...they filled his locker, maybe not his shoes.

Downgrade and no money for a QB (i.e. Fitz).

He did restructure his contact, although I don't think the specifics have been made public.

And to be fair, while playing in only 18 games over the last 3 seasons, he has played 16 games in 6 of his 8 seasons. Hopefully his recent injury history will be more indicative of his future with the Jets.

The Clady restructure is a one year deal for $6 million and a 2017 team option for $10 million.

for the jets, you couldn't ask for a better band aid over their current situation. at least they saw a hole and tried to fix it.

The question is whther Clady still has it. He's missed 30 games the past 3 seasons, including all of last season, and will be 30 when the season starts. It also prevents them from signing Fitz or any other decent QB for that matter, unless/until they do something with Wilkerson, which will be tough given his contract and that this is a deep draft for DL.

Unless Clady acquired Wolverine's healing mutation this isn't a concern for us. He's been hurt more often than not the past few years.

Good for them, not sure why Denver would let him go for next to nothing but oh well. Jets seem to be in win now mode which is curious to me, they are really not that good and have a very old roster.

I'm sure they know how much he has left in the tank, or doesn't have as the case may be.

He had a $10.3 cap number and they need to try and clear room to add Kap and sign their rookie class. Also they already added Okung in the offseason, so Clady was definitely a surplus for them.

Thanks I was unaware of the getting Okung or being in cap trouble. Been so busy barely time to study draft and our own team. I only looked at qb, dl, and lb
