All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

NFL: McCoy not likely to be facing discipline from the league
NFL: McCoy not likely to be facing discipline from the league
This is per NFL.com; 7 Eyewitness News(WKBW)just reported this as well.
Well, THAT's a sigh of relief.
John Hemingway(facing certain death): I want to see Buffalo win the Super Bowl.
David Coltrane(threatening John): Nobody's going to live that long, pal.

What would they have said, he gets attacked by rogue cops who are drinking $5,000 in champagne that night ? Honest cops don't buy a $1,250 bottle of booze.

The league doesn't care what really happened. They just care that a big name player got negative headlines. It's all about public perception.
Again, grounds don't matter. Perception does. Lots of players were suspended for things they were never charged for.
While perception matters, so do grounds. Goodell doesn't want another embarrassing over turn of his suspension. But what perception do you fancy this gives to people?

Not really. He didn't do anything wrong.
Uh, did you see the initial headlines? They implied that Shady was fighting cops. It was typical media sensationalism and we now know that it's not an accurate description of what's out there. But not everyone cares about Shady or the Bills like we do. Not everyone kept up with the story. If Goodell doesn't do something, people will think a player fought a cop and he did nothing about it. And there is already a perception - fair or unfair- that the league doesn't punish players harshly enough for violence.

So he should be suspended in order to appease those who didn't keep up with the resolution of the case but were outraged by the initial bull**** headlines? LOL!

Yep, that's pretty much what he's saying.
Only difference is that it's not that he "should" be suspended, but that he "will" or old Opie expects it.

I never said he should be suspended. I said he will be suspended. What Goodell does and what should be done are not the same thing, as he's proven in the past.
