Well, the titans are going to have a couple of pretty amazing drafts assuming they don't completely ef it up.

Who is that overwhelmingly good to draw fans? Not one of the QBs is worth that. To spend that kinda draft cash... it better be a homerun impact jersey selling player.

This is my question - this is a move you'd make to get a Peyton, Luck type player, perhaps even a Cam (thought I had my doubts about him coming out of college) - are they really gonna move this many picks to take Wentz or Goff?

If I were the Titans I'd be poppin' bottles bc they just fleeced these guys.

Funny thing is the Rams were beneficiaries of this exact type of trade not too long ago (the RG3 trade up). This move really doesn't make sense, theres no QB worth making this kind of move this year. The titans probably couldn't accept this one fast enough

I think they did this to gin up the gate for their move to LA. May as well...they aren't one of the "darling" franchises that gets maneuvered into the play offs year after year.

Thie Griffin trade was FAR FAR more compensation then this.

That said, if I was the Bills right now I'd consider throwing a late pick at the Rams for Foles as Taylor's competition.

In terms of first rounders yes. Still mortgaging their future for what? First 4 picks this year and 2 of first three this year for QB's most don't consider franchise guys.

Edit: Not that you were defending one trade or the other, I was just mentioning It was the same style of trade

In terms of any kind of compensation. The Rams moved from #15 to #1 this year and the Redskins moved from #6 to #2. If the Rams have even a 7-9 season next year then they will acquire the #1 overall without even giving up a Top 10 pick, which is crazy good. The key part for me is that the Rams are getting back three picks this year, all of which are at the top of their rounds.

This makes Ditka's trade of his entire draft for Ricky Williams look reasonable.

Obviously.

Cleveland got screwed again. With Wentz surely off the board, they just lost all leverage to trade away their pick at #2.

Isn't the $ for picks governed by the rookie caps...draft spot and position (QB, DT, CB and so on)?

LOL. Had to read all the way to post #8 before I heard the name mentioned, then post #19 for the report.

The trade was made to get Wentz.

Goodell asking them not to telegraph the pick to keep our interest up? LOL.

Nah not really, Philly has been linked to reports on trading for that pick, and they like Ezekiel Elliot.

Kind of tragic the Rams gave up that much in a deep draft, neither Wentz nor Goff are an Andrew Luck or a year one Griffin.

Kind of tragic the Titans chose Mike Mularkey to drive the Porsche they can build from this trade.

Kind of awesome it wasn't us.

Thing is though, had Shanahan not dorked Griffin up, they might have been pleased as punch with that trade.

Oh, btw, I can see why they'd lean toward Goff, he's a California guy for a team returning to California and seems smart marketing wise. I was reading Shefter said it though, and remember Shefter being determined for years to link the Bills with going after Michael Vick, like clockwork, every time Vick was even remotely appearing to be available. Either way though, ouch for the Rams.

This is essentially the Sammy Watkins trade on steroids. Jeff Fischer and Les Snead are in the last year of their contracts and know that with all the $$ Kroenke's putting into this LA move, they need to win now or he'll be looking for some new faces to go with his 'new' franchise.

Yep. He's one former NFLer that has taken care of himself for sure. He's a year older than I. I could do those push-ups at one point, but not now! LOL.
