MACOMB, Ill. (AP) -- The St. Louis Rams on Thursday signed linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa, their second-round pick, to a four-year contract.
Tinoisamoa, who played at Hawaii, is projected as a starter at outside linebacker. He was expected to arrive at training camp Thursday afternoon but likely won't practice until Friday.
"You think you know him, but you don't really know until you get him out there," Rams head coach Mike Martz said after the first day of two-a-days. "I think he's got the speed and intensity and fire, and I think he can make plays for us on defense, but he still has to do that."
"I guess the honeymoon's over once he comes out on the field."
