Shaq Lawson 6-2 1/2 270 4.68 #11 rated player overall

Consensus All- American. The productive and quick twitch end plays like a LB. An intense, high effort competitor who has an explosive first step and a sudden spin move. The speedy and quick edge player has exceptional lateral, foot and hand quickness. He literally has the eye of a tiger. He fights through double teams and works to finish the play. He goes after the QB like a piranha that just got off a vegetarian diet. Pass rush is all about effort and Lawson gives everything he has. When he locks out, he plays with control and violence. Disengages quickly and doesn't stay blocked. Rushes equally as well from a 4-point or 2-point stance. Quick to read and react. He closes down the off-tackle run lane and is quick enough to beat a pulling guard. Plays low with good leverage. Slippery to block.
60 tackles, 25.5 for loss (lead nation), 12.5 sacks - 1st Round

I'll fill them in as they come.

This would make Nkemdiche and his pet panther look like a puss.

No surprise. Miami had the best 1st rd grade from most if not all these sites. Not bad for bills.

Shaq Lawson generated pass pressure when single-blocked 44.1 percent of the time (a very good rate) but generated pass pressure when double-teamed just 11.1 percent of the time (a pretty good rate). Wait, if both of Lawson’s pressure rates are good, what’s the problem? The problem is that Lawson was double-teamed so regularly that it made him look a little like a one-trick, feast-or-famine type of pass-rusher.

19. Buffalo Bills
Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson
GRADE: B
Don't call Lawson a one-year wonder—it was tough for him to find starting time earlier in his career along Clemson's deep line. He amassed 35 solo tackles, 12.5 sacks and 24.5 tackles for loss in 2015, and he combined the edge speed to beat tackles outside with the power to move guards inside. He's not the same type of player as Mario Williams, but he may put up similar pressure numbers over time. He needs a little technique work, but where better to hone that than within a Rex Ryan defense?

19. Buffalo Bills - Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson

Leading up to the draft, it was clear the Bills needed to get a player on the defensive line. With Mario Williams in Miami, it was especially important to get a player who can rush the passer. That's what Lawson can do, and likely why he was the pick over the number of other defensive linemen who were available.

Grade: B+

19. Buffalo Bills: Shaq Lawson | Grade: A-

With Mario Williams moving on, Lawson steps in as the power defensive end/outside linebacker in the Bills’ scheme. He’s strong against the run – second in the nation behind Bosa – and his +25.9 pass rush grade ranked ninth. Lawson had a breakout season after a strong showing in limited time in 2014 on a loaded Clemson defense. For the Bills, he’ll play opposite DE/OLB Jerry Hughes, adding a formidable presence off the edge to complement their stout strong interior defensive linemen, Kyle Williams and Marcel Dareus.

Buffalo Bills
Draft pick: Shaq Lawson (No. 19 overall)
Day 1 grade: A
The skinny: Lawson isn't the physically-dominating player Mario Williams is, but he's a good find here in a draft without a lot of top-rated pass rushers. He was also the best player available, so fans should be happy with the selection.

19. Buffalo Bills: Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson A Grade
Some teams told us that they had Shaq Lawson in the second round early on during the draft process. His shoulder was the concern, but once that medically checked out, it became apparent that he could be chosen as high as No. 11 to Chicago. With that in mind, the Bills are getting a steal. Lawson is an athletic freak, and he should fit in extremely well into Rex Ryan's defense. Ryan had to find an edge rusher to replace the lethargic Mario Williams, and Lawson figures to be an instant upgrade. The one concern is Lawson's attitude, but he's well worth the risk at No. 19 overall.

And the Bills trade up and steal the best MLB in the draft away from Baltimore, who was ready to pick him according to reports. Outstanding.

Reggie Ragland - Alabama - 6-1 247 4.68

SEC Defensive Player of the Year. Unanimous 1st Team All-American. The leader of a very complex defensive scheme. Good initial read and react with outstanding instincts to find the ball. Shows good agility in traffic. Runs well in pursuit. Uses hands well to shed and get to the ball. Takes good angles. A physical tackler who finishes. Takes good pass drops in pattern read zone doing a good job rerouting receivers and settling in a zone. Has a burst in pass rush with a clear path to the QB. Very productive LB on a great defense. A tough hitter with the knack for the big play. Makes a lot of tackles and is very good from tackle to tackle moving downhill. Limited in coverage but good in short drops. Has good tools and ability to be a solid pro. Played well in the Senior Bowl. Could be very good in the right scheme.

Adolphus Washington DT Ohio St. 6-3 302 5.18

Quick twitch high effort player who is always around the ball. Good lateral foot and hand quickness. Accelerates off blocks and flashes an upfield burst. Gives good effort to push the pocket and rush the passer from an interior position. Has multiple moves to disengage and get into the backfield quickly. Shows good toughness, explosion and aggressiveness up and down the line of scrimmage. The big bodied DL also has the ability to come off the edge. Can line up anywhere on the DL. Plays more athletic than he works out. All effort.
Senior Bowl notes: Good hand quickness and athletic ability. Powerful with a quick first step. Doesn't stay blocked. Works the edge well as a pass rusher.
49 tackles 7 tackles for loss 5 sacks 2nd round

As many know, I watch every Buckeye game. You'll like this guy. He's in the same mold as Rankins, who was picked #12 overall by the Saints. A rare DT with pass rush moves who gets in the backfield constantly and blows up plays.

One things for sure, I'll give Rex credit for his personality and getting these guys to buy in. They all seem excited to play for him which is important.
