All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Bill Polian was talking about the Bills QBs on NFL live around 3:00 pm today and was making the case for the Bills looking to get their QB of the future in this draft. He said the Bills QB are stopgap, backup, not the one to take them to the promised land.
Obviously, he's not sold on Tyrod Taylor as the long term answer.
The one advantage to Taylor is that you don't have to worry about this coming season. You have the ability to take a high ceiling guy who you know, barring injury, isn't going to see the field in 2016. So you're looking for a prospect who can come in and soak the playbook up and immerse himself in concepts, reads, and film for the next 12 months.
COMING SOON...

Who is best suited and where do you take him? I'd like Hackenberg, but I'd rather get him in the third. Too much defensive talent available in the second.

Plus he speaks with Pegula. He told him as much, little doubt.
Here comes Prescott or Hogan.

Tyrod is a good sandlot QB. He either throws a bomb or holds on to the ball too long so the play breaks down and he can take off and run. The Bills are going nowhere with type of QB. Unfortunately football teams don't win many games with this type of play.
Polian makes no sense. Next year's draft has better QB prospects than this year. Goff and Wentz weren't even great prospects. Why would he suggest taking a QB in this draft - a draft devoid of QB talent just like the EJ draft? Not saying the Bills shouldn't take a QB, but at this point of the draft they should focus on next year with this position. They should not take a QB today just for the sake of doing it. Rather they should use the pick to fill in another position, like getting an eventual replacement for Ritchie Incognito (who likely only has one year left in him) or Wood or CB or safety or RB or WR. Rather than one of these garbage QB prospects left out there. Cook is the really the only one you'd consider. Polian is stupid.

Tyrod is a small guy, who is asking to get hurt the way he runs around. You really want to go into the season with EJ as your back-up? That cost us the playoffs last year. There is 4 guys siting there still, take your guy this round and move on.

After Polian said the stopgap/backup thing, he also stated that he thought this year's QB draft is a lot better than what will be available next year.

And they selected Cardale Jones with that idea.

Well yeah, with Wildcat Lee to tutor him in the finer points. Crapshoot, but any QB would have been anyway and I guess at least Jones is a pretty quick tank with a rocket launcher who knows how to win. Is that enough ? I dunno. Had to take a QB they say. So we did.
Remember Lee was the qb coach who Fitz said "was the first coach to show him changes in mechanics", and then Fitz went on to do not well and throw out his shoulder trying to give passes oomph. At least you don't have to worry about Cardale having plenty of oomph on his throws.
What I don't like is that Jones has less than 300 atts and about 2500 yds in 3 years. He is yet another potential guy. When will we ever get a proven guy thats ready to play ?
