TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama's football practices will be closed to the public this season, coach Mike Shula said Thursday.
"Without the advantage of spring practice, this fall camp will be a very critical part of our preparation for the upcoming season," Shula said. "We need the full attention of our players and coaches."
It will also preserve the mystery of the Crimson Tide's offensive system under Shula entering the season opener Aug. 30 against South Florida, who replaced Mike Price in May.
The media will be allowed to watch the first 20 minutes, similar to the policies at Auburn and some other schools.
