All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

After Day 1 of Rookie Camp - Cardale Jones Works With Jim Kelly
Re: After Day 1 of Rookie Camp - Cardale Jones Works With Jim Kelly
I read they were working on footwork. Jones needs a lot of mentoring. Not sure we have the QBs on the roster for that. So, why not have the 56 year old former QB work with him?
did the two really work out for awhile after practice? The news made it sound like they were just talking for a few minutes.
I heard rumors Jones is sleeping in Kelly's utility room. Jim wakes him every 45 minutes to throw footballs at anything in the house, everything labeled with a point value. If Jones gets enough points in 30 seconds he gets a sandwich and is allowed 5 more minutes of sleep per cycle.
I have personal experience of Kelly doing this, I went there to cut his grass once, didn't leave for a week after having to accumulate enough points. The sandwiches are real good though and frankly, his utility room is quite comfortable.
Re: After Day 1 of Rookie Camp - Cardale Jones Works With Jim Kelly
Anything that Kelly can teach Jones would be ideal. His footwork, body weight shifts, steps, and release all need to improve prior to camp. He needs to develop confidence in that process so it becomes muscle memory so that he can deliver passes with accuracy.

This stuff is overrated. Jim Kelly isn't going to do squat for him. It's 2016 not 1993. If the kid is good then he's good.
I think that's an understatement. Kelly isn't going to make the kids career, but unlike coaches Kelly may be able to spend more time with the kid and help teach him fundamentals.
In the end it will be on Lee and Palmer to get him ready for the NFL.

I'd say his presence would be more of an inspiration to a young man than the teaching of any fundamentals. He's a HOF, he's "walked the walk".
