This smarts. Not knowing his shoulder was so close to surgery, always Lawson.
If I had a medical staff to alarm me, well....a whole bunch of players, including Ragland which would have saved another pick later. Changes the whole equation.

I'm still good with the Lawson pick, but really the only ones I would have gone after at 19 would have been Ragland or Treadwell...maybe Butler.YardRat Wall of Fame

Re: For those wishing we passed on Shaq
But we would have been fine with picking Ragland at #19.
Instead, we got both Lawson and Ragland for a couple Saturday draft picks.
Explain to me again how that is bad ?Anonymity is an abused privilege, abused most by people who mistake vitriol for wisdom and cynicism for wit

Re: For those wishing we passed on Shaq
I would have taken Lynch or traded down. We had a shortage of picks so getting more would have been nice. Instead we use one on a guy that probably won't contribute much this year and reduce our picks further by trading up. Then we draft a QB that will very likely bust. But it was a better draft than most of ours. At least I didn't know immediately our first pick was a bust like a Maybin or Losman.

Massively improve 2 spots then have three lesser, or 1 massive improvement with 1 very good one and two good ones and a lesser. The good teams build across the board imho and I don't write off Saturday and Sunday draft picks in any case. Doesn't make sense to. If UDFA's make teams and contribute, so can any pick if your scouting is that good. People talk like there should only be 3 rounds and over. Nah.
I'm still great with picking Lawson with what I knew at the time, wouldn't write him off though it's disappointing. I still like having Ragland on the team, am still a little put off by the price but hey.
Now it just comes down to seeing what happens.

Originally posted by Bill Cody View PostTrue. But QB is a very different equation than any other position on the field, no? You just have to have it covered. Lynch would have been insurance against Tyrod not performing or leaving. If the Bills were stone cold sold on Tyrod fine trade down before you take a guy that might need surgery
