I'd like to see the actual numbers behind that 'study'...I'm guessing it revolves around pass attempts/sacks etc only and doesn't take into account how many times he had to quickly tuck and run to avoid pressure (which is also a reason why #1 rushing isn't as impressive as it sounds).YardRat Wall of Fame

Then why are there still complaints about the offensive line?
Where are we deficient? What are your expectations?
It wasn't their fault they had a one read QB that waited too long to throw the ball, making the play break down so he could take off and run.

That's a good point also...was the offensive line that good, because Tyrod had 'the most time to throw', or was the QB that bad, because he held on to the ball longer than anybody else in the league?YardRat Wall of Fame

Sometimes he held onto the ball too long, but he seems to be very good at scrambling to buy more time in instinctual ways. They don't call him "T-Mobile" to advertise phones.

Re: Tyrod had more time to throw last year than any other starting QB
That's not saying Taylor had the most time to throw, it's saying he took the most time to throw. Part of that is on our OL playing adequately (I'd say that's a fair description), part of that is Taylor buying time in the pocket, and part of that is Roman running a lot of slow burning pass plays with play action fakes and/or deep double-move routes.

Re: Tyrod had more time to throw last year than any other starting QB
a lot of that was thanks to the max protect and deep drops we ran a lot of time for the deep ball offense, some of it was due to a scrambling QB; some of it was the light "containing rushes" some of the teams we played used.
Remember, Michael Vick often would top the league in this same number, it had little to nothing to do with the quality of the line he was playing behind.
from what I saw last year our RT was basically a turnstile for about half the games we played, other then that the pass protection was merely average.Last edited by Ingtar33; 05-22-2016, 10:04 AM.My wife told me that if I had a dollar for every girl who found me unattractive, girls would find me VERY attractive.

I'll bet everyone enjoyed the long balls to Watkins on Taylors 1st read,
good grief...

Re: Tyrod had more time to throw last year than any other starting QB
I think the stats show that Tyrod's best passing numbers are with two wideouts. When he's in running formation or the threat of a run is there, it benefits him. When the other team knows he has to pass with 4 wideouts, he isn't that good. And therein lies the problem.Lou Saban: You can get it done, you can get it done. The other unaddressed issue is that Rex hasn't figured out the no huddle offense has killed our defense. Remember this post in October.Lou Saban: You can get it done, you can get it done. And what’s more, you’ve gotta get it done.

Another one of the issues with PFF and how they are trying to invent new content. This measure is quite flawed and trying to determine much is impossible.COMING SOON...

Re: Tyrod had more time to throw last year than any other starting QB
Hard to interpret that one. Going on memory alone I don't remember Tyrod being pressured much. That certainly is a plus for our line. Then again you can also argue that Taylor takes too long to throw and that helps that stat or that he buys time with his movement.
Not sure what to read into this one. A repeat performance form the line plus a more confident Taylor would do wonders though. He needs to find the middle of the field more.

Re: Tyrod had more time to throw last year than any other starting QB
What I want? From Tyrod I want him to stay healthy and show consistency. There were times last year when I was like we have the long term answer at QB, but then there were games where I thought, really? What was he thinking? So I expect him to work on his gamesmanship, and show continued improvement. As for the line, stay healthy and continue building on last year.

Now, a QB that scoots.
