Lions let loose on league
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -- Detroit Lions management is criticizing the NFL's $200,000 fine against team president Matt Millen for his failure to interview minorities before hiring coach Steve Mariucci.
Commissioner Paul Tagliabue told Millen last week of the fine, the first levied under the league's diversity program.
After coach Marty Mornhinweg was fired by the Lions in January, Mariucci was the only person interviewed for the job....
