BOSTON (AP) -- Boston Bruins defenseman Jonathan Girard broke his pelvis in a car accident and was in stable condition Friday.
Girard is in Hopital Sacre Coeur in Montreal following an accident Thursday near his hometown of Rawdon, Quebec, Bruins general manager Mike O'Connell said in a statement Friday.
"He suffered a broken pelvis in four places and some blood loss ... and I understand that he is doing better this morning," O'Connell said.
"My understanding is that Jonathan will need surgery, but there has been no schedule for that at this time. As to the outlook for his hockey career, that is to be determined and is not our concern at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jonathan for a complete recovery."
